Welcome to USM KLE International Medical Program
Sebelum 2 Jun 2013.
USM korang mesti tau. KLE stands for Karnataka Lingayat Education & IMP (International Medical Program. KLE merupakan satu badan/yayasan pendidikan yang sangat terkenal di India. Satu program course MD, 5 tahun dan bermula tahun 2010 (setakat ini baru ada 3 batch sahaja).
Kelayakan untuk masuk taklah susah. Kalau IB 34 pun dapat, CGPA matrix 3.7, MUET band 3, lulus ujian personaliti (ape entah nama test ni, x ingat, something macam Munsyi...) dan lulus interview. SPM macam mana?? Tidak diambil kira pun, asalkan korang lulus, then masuk matrix, then bolehlah apply based on result matrix.
USMKLE cemerlang dengan rekod exam PRO 100% lulus 2 tahun berturut-turut. Manakan tidak, suasana untuk belajar di sini amatlah condusive. Meh aku cerita sikit.

| Sedikit insight tentang hostel |
-Facility hostel (ada hostel sendiri tu) yang comparatively selesa, siap internet port. Takyah dok pikir nak bayar broadband bulan-bulan macam kat college dulu.
- Jarak dari hostel ke campus is lima minit berjalan kaki sahaja.
- Lecture Hall yang sederhana besar (back benchers can still clearly see lecturer in front)
- Ada sesi demo di samping sesi lecture untuk kasi 3D understanding. Ilmu anatomi korang komfem akan berkilat2 sebab ada banyak model untuk
digunakan sebagai rujukan.
-Kemudahan mikroskop yang abundant; ratio mikroskop to student is 1:2. Maka takdelah case macam
zaman2 sekolah@kolej dulu berebut2 nak tengok slide. Plus, the slide is ready made for you to see.
-Lecturer yang Masha Allah, boleh aku kata macam library bergerak. Among them:
-- Dr. Vishnu MD....boleh ceritakan course of artery dari common carotid a. & its branches keatas, dan
ke bawah, kemana-mana sahaja.

-- Dr. Iyer K......antara editor buku Grays Anatomy, buku rujukan anatomi yang paling dikenali di seluruh
dunia since cetakan pertamanya tahun 1858
-- Dr. Sadanand BP.... boleh describe TCA cycle, glycolysis and apa2 cycle yang dia suka dari mana-
mana intermediate, as well as menyebut phosphohexoseisomerase & phosphogluconolactone tanpa
terbelit lidah, haha
--Dr Oswal KH......penghasil model dan chart2 anatomi utama bagi student2 medic di India melalui
syarikatnya Oswal Publications (or productions x ingat lak). Ingat, umur beliau sudah 79 tahun, tapi
memorinya sangat tajam!
-Tidak dilupakan juga harga buku yang sangat murah di India. Pengalaman Aku menguruskan pembelian
buku untuk batch, kebanyakan buku berharga bawah Rs1000@RM59 sebuah. Mana korang nak cari weii
kat tempat lain buku medic tebal ratus2 page harga camni.??
-Bilangan pelajar yang sedikit, macam batch aku just 59 orang. Senang untuk lecturer lecture korang, dan
korang jumpa lecturer. They are very2 friendly to us, foreign students.
-Cerita yang korang dengar pasal India banyak mayat tu, memang betul. Supply cadaver adalah continous. Plenty of dissected cadaver are there untuk korang tengok2. Satu peluang yang tiada di Malaysia, dan sangat terhad di Universiti2 lain.
-Pelajar-pelajar USMKLE akan mendapat baucar buku 1M setiap tahun, berbeza dengan pelajar oversea
negara lain. Of course la kena guna kat Msia, takkan nak guna kat sini pulak, haha.
- Ada kelas untuk bahasa Kannada (local language) & Hindi sikit2. So, peminat bollywood memang mudah
menjiwai cerita favourite anda lepas ni.

-Bagi student lelaki, ada bas disediakan untuk ke masjid Solat Jumaat. Inilah masanya korang nak berjumpa
dengan umat Islam mazhab lain (Hanafi).

Well, memang ada ranjau dan cabaran lain. The whole batch is from Malaysian students only, tak campur dengan local students. Ia hanyalah minor, almost tak akan kacau focus study korang. So, harap-harap adalah mereka yang berminat ke sini. Penat promote kott, haha. Credit to Akhyar Doctorgraphy kerana berikan inspirasi untuk aku menulis pulak. Sekian.

my questions are, do we need to apply this before ib result??the interview will be held somewhere in july heh?
what about the interview,is it high competition, tricky questions(provocative or whatnot) like ireland or uk medic iv??
the success rate for iv is it high or not?
i'm looking forward to apply this programme, since my ielts doesn't qualify me for ireland and i'm not intended to repeat it.

Wslm...During our batch, the interview was held after IB result. But, you need to confirmed it with the councellor before the IB result came out. Try asking councellor about this, they are always alert. The one who interviewed me was the Deputy Dean himself, am quite shaky that time, but dia kind of sempoi je, ada speak Melayu sikit2, haha, so layan saja. Yeap, they will gave you some ToK-like questions, semi provocative I can say...(not sure about eire & uk, Im OZ&NZ bound)..

Admin is looking for more students for the next intake, so I guess the success rate is brighter for you. All the best =)
how many MCB studs there in your batch??

what's the likely questions they might ask?
during your batch, did the admin from usm call you for the interview or they just email it??
how many days after interview will the result be released??did they publish the successful applicants in their website??

25 out of 59 were from MCB. Yeah, all of us passed it- the number attending the interview were more, but some got a better offer, so they rejected it. They dont really ask tough question, just about your background, your focus, aim etc. That was the most calming interview I ever had. Just show up your knowledge on the ethical question that they would ask. Previously, they used to give the ethical question printed on a card, gave cand. 5 min to think and then tell about our opinion. The arrangement is solely done by councellors. They were the one who mailed us when and where. USM will only mail you the offer letter, haha. If Im not mistaken, it only took less than a week for the result to be published. That was also informed by councellor (in yahoo group). The website pohon.usm is solely for application-Im also a bit pening nak check kat web, so I just ignored it. My advice, stay updated with the yahoo group, take care of your email from being hacked or something, at least until you enroll. Usually, competitions are going to develop year by year, so, I think the interview for your intake are going to be a bit tougher.

ReplyDeleteExample of ethics question is like, if you have poor family, and you know you have insufficient money but in desperate need to treat your mother who need a heart transplant (very costly)....what would you do? Haa, kan sng je nk goreng haha
ReplyDeleteYeap man, less than a week if you are an IB student, because the IB result come out very late. You are not, so keep praying because possibility is still there, dont lose hope..Our interview is on 10/8...and the enrolment date is 16/9..imagine the hecticness. Dont worry if your score is low, ada je MUET Band 3 yg enrolled. CGPA 3.73 is low?? you gotta be kidding haha..That is 0.27 less than full score compared to 6 less than full of mine

Deletehow come it's easily for MARA to sponsor other students from not it's own programme into USM KLE this year...i heard that MARA has agreed to sponsor 50 students for first phase iv and the list of names had been approved.the number maybe increasing after second phase iv.....the total number of students that USM KLE will take this year is maximum of 100 studs....then where will MARA place it's own studs??it sent us to do IB and we sacrifice a lot for that programme yet still we dont have any guarantee for our future.....
i feel really down to the moment of being neglecting by our sponsor.

Yes-i also heard that our juniors will be taken full quota-100 students. Well, you are lucky being an IB student, esp if KMS coz it has placement to India itself, unlike KMB.
DeleteDont regard IB as a sacrifice. Seriously speaking, bioethics are the utmost important here-you will be learning various personality theory, the extension of ToK subject. Writing report yg macam CAS reflection pun still ada, and I as the secretary for my group can compare the better style of writing for IB students, compared to asasi, pasum or etc.IB students got a very strong foundation here. IELTS is very recognized compared to MUET.
For my batch itself, 34 out of 59 was from IB students. Roughly more than 50percent are from IB students right? The second phase student usually taken after all the IB students had been considered. Only 3 IB students are taken as second intake, during ours. Itupun sebab they didnt come for primary interview and entah mcm mana , I think councellor settlekan kot, they got chosen.
I bet MARA had calculated all these factors. However, the absolute decision is in their hands. Be faithful, keep updated with the councellors, consider this as a test from Allah.
now, i hope i can achieve 35/45 to be considered in any institutions over there.:)

ReplyDeleteIf you met the minimum requirement, but not sponsored, you can pay to enroll. Otherwise,99% of medical students here are sponsored by MARA, JPA, etc

ReplyDeleteNo. All are undergraduates-(lepasan Matrix and Form 6...IB diploma tak dikira)..Paling teruk pun ada student yang pernah amik course medic, then their course tak diiktiraf MQA & kena repeat balik.
Deletemaksudnye pelajar lepasan diploma walaupun dapat admission untuk usm kle, mereka tak akan dapat loan daripada pihak mara untuk pursue study kat usm kle?
ReplyDeleteI wonder why those who already got diploma still want to be in this program. Rasa macam bermula balik dari bawah. Still, it is up to the sponsorer. From my observation, MARA sebolehnya akan sponsor pelajar Bumiputera, regardless of course and sometimes, family background. If you are sponsored by MARA before, rasanya boleh mohon untuk sambung tajaan. Kalau tak, maybe kena compete dgn pemohon yang lain2.
Deletewell..myb sangat ramai org ckp yang budak diploma ni mmg x layak nak ambik medic n critical course.. Well for my case, sy x dpt masuk matrix asasi or any. But dapat masuk diploma sains. Sy ni kes tercicir, i minat nak medic or critical course, tapi matrix tak ambik pun cuz saya punya add math E. Tapi bila sy recheck sy pass n credit. Rupanya diorang salah key in markah add math saya. So, diploma is my choice then. FYI, dulu ada student dpt 10 A 1 E, E kimia. Sekali pergi recheck, dia dpt A for kimia. So ni kira nasib kot. Huhuhuh..Bukan nak emo, but we willing to get something yg kita betul2 nak..huhuh

Wslm. Yeah, we got students with 34 points enrolling. Honestly speaking, the USM really regard IB students,33 is alright however though, your thoughest barrier now is to find sponsorer since MARA, to my acknowledgement set a cutoff min points for medic students.

ReplyDeleteHonestly bro, I only know MARA & JPA sahaja. Petronas is not meant for medic, so do Bank Negara. Im sorry, maybe you can ask your teacher/councellor, etc for this.

DeleteYear 3 belongs to phase 2, already started their academic calendar on 10th Sept 2013...Yeah you can apply for this year, but kemungkinan besar admin akan put you under 2nd year due to the student transfer system & vacancy

DeleteAs far as 2012 hingga 2017, kos pengajian (5 thn) adalah RM485, 500. Ini solely amount pengajian yg ditanggung MARA sahaja. Belum termasuk yuran hostel (sekitar RM 4500 setahun) dan elaun sara hidup. Namun, sy berpendapat jumlah ini akan meningkat berdasarkan prestasi matawang Rupee yang kian merosot.
Ada x kursus dentistry dlm prog usm-kle ni? Sbnrnya sya student dentistry from egypt,disebabkan keadaan mesir yg masih belum stabil,kpt telah buka offer utk transfer credit ke uni local.One of uni yg ditawarkan utk course dentistry adalah usm-kle ni.
ReplyDeleteUSM-KLE hanya menawarkan kursus MD (medical doctor). Jiran USM-KLE iaitu JNMC (Jawaharlal Nehru medical College) ada menawarkan kursus Dentistry. Namun, pada surat tawaran kami dinyatakan institusi kami sebagai USM/JNMC Belgaum yang pada hemah saya bermaksud, jika anda mahu apply dentistry, anda akan ditempatkan di JNMC Campus

DeleteUSM-KLE adalah program full course 5 tahun di Belgaum, India. System yg digunakan berbeza ikut 3 phase. Phase 1 (Year 1) merupakan tahun pengukuhan teori. Phase II (Year 2 & 3) merupakan fasa introductory kepada clinical & hospital. PBL turut diapply during this phase.
Phase III (Year 4&5) adalah fasa posting; anda akan dipost kepada 7 different department per year. Tiada lagi kelas, hanya application di hospital.
Phase IV (saje tambah), anda akan balik Malaysia as a doctor, In Shaa Allah =)

After SPM I got an offer to do the foundation in Science by applying the UPU but I refused and I applied to study MBBS at China which is Xian Jiaotong University. Now I just finished my foundation and the result already came out. I wonder how do I apply for USM-KLE medical programme?
